Mama

26 x 34in. charcoal on paper

Covid was an unprecedented situation that made the world feel bleak and tired. Mama was the second drawing I made during the peak of covid, a time when the light at the end of the tunnel kept dodging our eyes. With her hands covering her face and not her eyes, Mama portrays the paradox of hiding from the unpleasantness of the world, while simultaneously searching for its beauty.
